Our Story

A Crave Me baker beside a tray of mini cookie dough balls, with three bags of Chocolate Chip cookies

No one should have to give up snacking because of junky filler ingredients. We love snacking too, so we made Crave Me Cookies with real ingredients you can actually read, ready to grab on the go.

How Crave Me started

It started with a cross country trip. More than a decade ago, at every stop we would look for a good clean snack. All we found were shelves of seed oils, GMOs, and ingredients we couldn't pronounce. It's only gotten worse since, so we started iLoveSnacks.com to change that. Crave Me Cookies is our first creation: a mini, crunchy cookie made with real ingredients.

What we kept running into on those shelves was not a shortage of snacks calling themselves healthy. It was a shortage of ones that could prove it. Plenty of bags said clean on the front. Very few could back it up on the back.

Why we put the label first

Our whole brand is a two word instruction: Read It. The front of a package is bought by the marketing department; the ingredient statement is the one part that is regulated to be honest, listed in order by weight, with nothing left out. So we build to the back of the bag and let the front follow.

That is a harder way to make a cookie and an easier way to be trusted. If you want the method rather than the promise, we wrote it down: how to read an ingredient statement in about sixty seconds.

What is actually in them

Nine ingredients: gluten free flour blend of white rice, oat and tapioca flour, organic cane sugar, chocolate chips, apple sauce, coconut oil, natural vanilla flavor, baking soda, salt and xanthan gum. That is the whole statement. You can read it before the kettle boils, and you will not need a search engine for any of it.

What we leave out, and why

Crave Me is free from all top 14 allergens: milk, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, crustaceans, molluscs, wheat, gluten, soy, sesame, celery, mustard and lupin. Not nine, which is the United States list, but fourteen, which is the stricter international one.

No seed oils either. There is coconut oil, and only coconut oil, named on the back with no bracket after it. It is not the cheap fat and it is less forgiving to bake with, which is a large part of why the rest of the aisle does not use it. Here is the calm version of that argument. Non-GMO, no palm oil, and certified kosher by the CRC.

Cutting all fourteen takes away most of the standard baking toolkit. No butter, no eggs, no wheat flour, no nut flours, no soy lecithin. You have to rebuild the cookie from scratch, which is exactly what we did, and it is why one bag works for a whole classroom instead of one child eating something different.

Who makes them

Crave Me Cookies is made by iLoveSnacks.com LLC, the company that cross country trip turned into. We are a small operation. We ship every order ourselves, and the email on the contact line is answered by Mr.Snacks, who is also the one holding the tray in the photograph above.

Everything comes in two bag sizes, 1 oz and 4 oz, and in 6, 8 and 12 packs of each. All eight are here.

Because snacks should taste great and be simple. We hope you crave the crunch and love every bite as much as we do.

Thank you for trusting us with your snacking needs.
